Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope

A kaleidoscope is an optical device consisting of mirrors that reflect images of bits of colored glass and tinsel in a symmetrical geometric design through a viewer. The design may be changed endlessly by rotating the section containing the loose fragments.

The name is derived from the Greek words kalos (“beautiful”), eidos (“form”), and skopein (“to view”).

As the observer looks through one end of the device and light enters the other end, one experiences the beauty of form, symmetry, color, and light.

We believe that the kaleidoscope is a simple, elegant, metaphoric model for the splendor of life and the imaginings of the eternally harmonious feminine mindscape.

The kaleidoscope mirrors the profound beauty of the soul itself, in all its potential forms. In effect it is the soul that is illuminated.

We are but fine fragments of the cosmic sum of divine femininity, yet through our endeavors we hope to enhance the future for many women who know the power of unity.

We look at our slippers through a kaleidoscope and here are a few amusing fragments that come to our mind when the light reflects off of our mirrors:

……inner beauty and femininity
……self creation and recreation
……the beauty of loving the skin you’re in
……the evolution of childhood dreams

As adults we often forget the fun of dreaming and letting our imaginations run free.

Inspiring quotes:

Dean Koontz:
“Bunny slippers remind me of who I am. You can’t get a swelled head if you wear bunny slippers. You can’t lose your sense of perspective and start acting like a star or rich lady if you keep on wearing bunny slippers. Besides, bunny slippers give me confidence because they’re so jaunty. They make a statement; they say, ‘Nothing the world does to me can ever get me so far down that I can’t be silly and frivolous.’ If I died and found myself in Hell, I could endure the place if I had bunny slippers.”

Marilyn Monroe:
“I don’t know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot”

Marilyn Monroe:
“I don’t mind living in a man’s world as long as I can be a woman in it.”

Marilyn Monroe:
“It’s all make believe, isn’t it?”

Rodger Vivier:
“To be carried by shoes, winged by them. To wear dreams on one’s feet is to begin to give reality to one’s dreams.”

*A Kaleidoscope of ideas:

The rabbit is a symbol of love, fertility, joy and vigilance. The rabbit was an animal favored by the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite. Being a symbol of fertility, the rabbit is especially beneficial to women.

The rabbit is a symbol of luck and also a symbol of faith in several religions. It is lucky in love. Keep a rabbit close to help overcome fears.

In many cultures people see the geographical markings on the moon as resembling a rabbit with a mortar and pestle.

In Chinese folklore there is a legend about the Jade Rabbit that lives on the moon. She constantly prepares the elixir of life for her immortal companion, the moon goddess, Chang’e.

In Japanese folklore the rabbit on the moon is preparing mochi, a sweet confection.

In English speaking countries throughout the world there is a superstition most common among children. “Rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit” is a luck bringing custom. It is believed that saying “rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit” on the first day of the New Year will bring yearlong good fortune. Similarly by being the first to say “rabbit, rabbit” to another person on the first of the month will bring good luck for the month.

In fairy tales shoes often symbolized magic. We all know the significance of Cinderella’s glass slippers and Dorothy’s ruby slippers.

Magical shoes can lead you to fantastic journeys on the path to self discovery.

In the age we live in, our paths have become more complicated than ever. “Walking the walk”, can be tedious sometimes. Bunny slippers have a way of emotionally comforting those who wear them.

We would like our re-invention of the bunny slipper to awaken your sense of wonderment. With every charming step you take, listen to your heart’s desire and remember………..life is rich, beauty is everywhere, and there is magic around every corner!
